Villanova Irish Dance

The Irish Dance Team is an entirely student run organization which originated in the Spring of 2006. It was formed by a small group of dedicated dancers who wished to share their long-standing love for Irish dance, music, and culture with the Villanova community, and has continued to grow.   We can be seen doing performances year-round at all corners of the Villanova campus and in the local area around Villanova, including performances at Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games, Special Olympics, Accepted Candidate’s Day, and Parent’s Weekend to name a few.  Villanova hosts an Intercollegiate Irish Dance Festival for other college teams to come and compete, dancing the traditional four and eight hands, the treble reel, and the finale being a fun number choreographed with costumes to any song.   The Irish Dance Team also organizes an annual St. Patrick’s Day Showcase as a way of celebrating our culture and performing a variety of dance numbers to all who wish to attend.  Go Cats!
